<FONT color=#000080><b>【作曲家介绍】</b> 乔治·比才 Georges Bizet (1838-1875)
法国作曲家，生于巴黎，世界上演率最高的歌剧《卡门》的作者。九岁起即入巴黎音乐学院学习作曲，后到罗马进修三年。1863年写成第一部歌剧《采珍珠者》。1870年新婚不久参加国民自卫军，后终生在塞纳河畔的布基伐尔从事写作。
在他的戏剧配乐《阿莱城姑娘》（都德编剧，后配乐被改编为两套管弦乐组曲）和《卡门》等九部歌剧作品中，体现了浓厚的现实主义色彩，社会底层的平民小人物成为作品的主角。在音乐中他把鲜明的民族色彩，富有表现力的描绘生活冲突的交响发展，以及法国的喜歌剧传统的表现手法熔于一炉，创造了十九世纪法国歌剧的最高成就。 </FONT>
